The calendar is full and the season is in full swing. I am hop- ing that every- body has gone through the cal- endar and has found some- thing that suits them. I am al- ways looking for new events for our members so if you have any ideas please do not hesitate to
fast for you then come on down to an autocross. We have events every month at the Nassau Coliseum un- til we switch over to Tobay Beach in October. At autocross you really get to see what your car can do at a slow safe speed. It’s very social and can be as competitive as you want it to be. No experience is nec- essary so come on down and try it out.
The next autocross is Father’s Day, June 17. In honor of Father’s Day, any father who brings his son or daughter to autocross will not have to pay for their entry fee. Please note drivers must be at least 17 years old with a full driver’s license. 17 year old drivers must have both parents fill out all JPP paperwork lo- cated on the national web- site. Contact Dan Fishkind with any questions.
If you’re the type who likes a nice leisurely drive then our season open- er Trek is on the horizon. Every detail has been meticulously planned by Stew and Sue Teichman. This trek will feature nice country roads, scenic views and dining at Blu Pointe, a wa- terfront restaurant offering a farm- to-table menu. The restaurant has a dramatic view of the scenic Hudson River and a posh dining room and lounge with bluestone fireplaces that form a spectacular backdrop. This sounds like an incredible event to enjoy your car and socializing with fellow members. If you like treks and want to add a little challenge to your drive then check out one of Rich Mooers’ Rallies.

If you attended this event last year you know what a great time we had. One hundred and sixty mem- bers showed and I am anticipating it being even bigger and better this year. One of the best things about member day is a large portion of the entry fee is donated to our selected charities. More details to follow.
If driving is more your speed, speed driving that is, then sign up for a DE or attend an autocross. The DE sea- son is in full swing with New Jersey Motorsports Park and Lime Rock events in the record book. Despite some bad weather they were both very successful events. Watkins Glen is coming up on May 30th and that is a great track to drive for both expe- rienced and novice drivers. Henry Hoeh has worked hard once again to bring you the best DE schedule. Take advantage of it. If DE is too
