North Country Update
Supercar night is back at Pepe Porsche of Larch- mont. On Thursday, June 21st, Pepe Porsche of Larch- mont will be hosting its annual supercar night of festivities. The evening plans include music, food
and the exhibition of new models in- cluding the Porsche GT2 RS, the 700 hp beast that will smoke virtually any Porsche on the street. This event will support Habitat for Humanity and will be one of the most enjoyable eve-
nings this season.
Come eat and drink and smell the
Favorite Road:
“Porche-ness” of Porsche of Larch- mont. This event will feature an open bar and catered food. We will even see some of their air-cooled inven- tory on display in their modern and spacious showroom. Pepe Porsche of Larchmont is asking Metro members to participate in this charity event and get a preview of some of the most unique and iconic cars avail- able today. Also, meet the staff and spend some time mingling with your fellow Metro members. Doors open at 6:30 pm.
We look forward to seeing you there. If you have any questions, email me at [email protected]
Having grown up on Long Island and spending high school and college in Suffolk County (Smithtown High School, Stony Brook University), every sum- mer weekend was spent at (1) Hot Dog Beach (2) Tiana Beach (3) Cupsogue Beach (4) Smith Point Beach, or (5) occasionally Robert Moses Beach. How many of you remember the OBI East? Boardy Barn? Twister Sister and the Good Rats? Sunrise Highway east of Patchogue is not only a roadway, it is trip down memory lane. For me to head east to a “Hamptons” beach, I need to leave early from Westchester to get over the Throgs Neck. to get to Rt. 110 before 7:00 am, meaning I will hit William Floyd Parkway by 7:30, possibly a little earlier if I am in “sport mode” in my 997.2. The road surface is fine (not optimal), but it has good visibility and periodic vistas of eastern Long Island which appear on hill crests. The trip from Patchogue to Hampton Bays (Rt 24) is always a blast, especially early in the morning. Destination #1 - the Starbucks on Montauk Highway in Hampton Bays. Destination #2 - See 2 or 3 above. A trip along Dune Road always caps off the Sunrise HIghway leg. So, if you hear a sonic boom on Rt. 27 coming from a black Carrera 4 Cab somewhere near
Manorville, don’t forget to wave. 42
